Wombat Room, Bentleigh Childcare
Age Group: 2 – 3 Years
Class Size: 16

Class Overview
This is a stage in which your child is bursting with creative energy and inquisitiveness about everything around them. Our commitment is to nurture and encourage this with an active, energetic program that is filled with fun and educational activities. Language and number skills start to take on a more structured form, while still offering plenty of space for creative expression.
Boys and girls are given plenty of autonomy to follow their own interests and lines of inquiry to help bring out their unique, natural interests and character. At the same time, they will start to work more collaboratively with their peers, learning the value of cooperation and teamwork.
What your child will experience in this room:
Specialised Classes
The children begin exploring different topics with the specialised classes, each week your child will get to engage in set lessons such as cooking, art, wellbeing, library, and sports.
Morning and Afternoon Group Times:
We start to introduce group times with the children, allowing our educators to talk about set learning goals with the children. Some of the topics talked about in these group times can include: acknowledgement of country, what’s the weather?, days of the week, and extension of the topics they are learning about in the classroom.
Building Independence:
We follow the children’s developmental stage and allow the children to start building their independence in the classroom, this will be shown through room routines (packing away their bowls after meals, picking their photo for their locker, putting their drink bottles onto the trolley for the day).
